All our balustrades are manufactured from toughened safety glass that is up to five times stronger than standard glass, fully compliant with SABS standards and SANS 10400 building regulations.
Overview
Glass balustrades have become the preferred safety barrier for balconies, staircases, mezzanines, and pool surrounds in both residential homes and commercial buildings. They provide the required fall protection without blocking sight lines, natural light, or the sense of openness that makes elevated spaces feel connected to the rest of the property. Alu-Value installs glass balustrade systems using toughened safety glass that meets SANS 10400-N and SANS 10400-M requirements. We handle everything from the initial site measure through to final installation, including structural fixing, handrail fitting, and compliance sign-off. The problem

Questions clients ask
Toughened safety glass is designed to crumble into small, blunt pieces rather than sharp shards. The risk of injury from a broken toughened glass panel is significantly lower than from steel, wooden, or standard glass railing failures. For positions where retained integrity is required (such as overhead or very high elevations), we use laminated toughened glass that holds together even when broken.
